Lady's Bedroom In White

I am still playing catch up with my progress.  I'm hoping to get all the pictures posted on here before Christmas because I am working on some Christmas themed rooms that I would like to post as well.  Here is a scene just after I stained the flooring. I made another lady's bedroom in white this time.

I feel it has a kind of boho style to it. I used the artwork as a base for the color scheme.

Hopefully I will be able to get on here more often to post.  Keep your fingers crossed.

Another Lady's Bedroom

Miniature lady's bedroom

I haven't made any new miniatures for awhile but I have been having fun playing with what I have. This is another bedroom (bedrooms are easy).

I like adding accessories to make the rooms feel fuller.

The cat is definitely too big for the room.

Miniature room

I've got a mini block.  Usually I'll just play with my minis and am able to come up with a new fun idea or two but lately, just can't come up with anything.  Do you ever get stuck in a rut?  What do you do for inspiration?

It Has Been A Little Bit

Dollar Tree miniatures

I picked up these at a Dollar Tree and decided I could paint them and use them in my minis.

Dollar Tree Miniatures redo

As soon as I find my white paint pen, I'll add his name to the dog bowl.  I also included some new tables I made in the picture.  They are much like the ones I made with bobby pin legs but the legs wouldn't stay on so I took two (out of the many) pizza centers "tables" I have, painted them black and used them as the bases.

I haven't worked much with new minis but will hopefully have more for you later.

Miniature Fireplace

For those of you that didn't know, I took a break from electronics for the entire month of February.  Besides lowering my stress and anxiety, I got quite a bit done with the free time I suddenly had.  Which of course included miniature making.  One of which I am super happy with was a quick project I made from a Dollar Tree dresser.

I started by putting it in the microwave to soften the glue and removed the front panel and legs.

Then I used jumbo popsicle sticks and cut them to frame my fire place.

I also purchased some stain markers from the Dollar Tree and used one to stain the fire place.  Below is the finished product.  I love how it came out.

Short and Sweet: Miniature Plant Stand

I made a super simple plant stand today and thought I'd share it with you all.  Hope you like it.

miniature plant stand

I plan to use it as a plant stand for now but it would probably work as a little side table too.

diy miniature plant stand

I made it out of theses craft spools and a wooden tile that came from a chess game I bought at the Dollar Tree.  I have a bunch of these and am thinking of making more and painting them different colors.

Miniature Bohemian Living Room

miniature boho room

I made another bohemian themed scene.  It's my favorite miniature style.

miniature ladder

I made another ladder.  I think I'll add some blankets to it next time I use it.

miniature accessories

I also used lots of my new plants and the new vase I made.

miniature pallet coffee table

But my favorite part is the pallet coffee table I made.  And of course my button that I'm still playing with.

I think if I'm going to keep on with the boho theme that I need to make some hanging plants as well.  Next on my to do list.

DIY Miniature Plants

miniature plants

I made a few new plants and grouped them with some plants I already have.  I like a lot of plants in miniature only because I can't keep them alive in my scale...

diy miniature plants

These two were made from cutting up a green plastic folder from the Dollar Tree.

I also dug around in my junk drawer and pulled these two pieces out.  I believe this lamp topper looks like a vase but needed a stand.

So I glued them together...

diy vase of roses

And added some white roses I've had for some time.  What do you think?

vintage medical prints

I also played around with some prints I have that I haven't used much of.  Not sure how to use these vintage prints.  Not really wanting to make a doctor's office. Wanting to use them in more modern decor.  Have any of you used vintage medical prints in your mini decor?  Post the link in your comments if so.

Miniature Office

miniature office

Not certain that there is a theme here.  Mostly eclectic I believe.

miniature bits and pieces

Lots of just random bits and pieces.

miniature desk

I did make a little tablet out of an advertisement.  And you may notice that the time on the tablet and the time on the clock do not match up.  Oops.

miniature shelf

I really need to get on to making new miniatures.  My scenes are starting to feel too similar.

Boho Room Box #2

boho room box

I'm fairly disappointed with how the wallpaper came out in this one.  I used a page from an old calendar and it wrinkled.  I should have backed it with some card stock first, maybe a different glue as well.  Too late.  My husband brought the box home from his Christmas party at work, it held chocolates I believe.

Lighting makes the wrinkles more noticeable.  The flooring was some scrap scrapbook paper I had left over from another project.

My ladder is a little crooked too.  I'll do better on the next one.  The stars and moon are the pop outs from some of my kids stencils. The butterfly mirror is from the Dollar Tree.

I made a stool from a wooden block and some twine.  The floral pictures are printouts and for those who don't know, the lamp is a chess piece with a lid and bead on top.

miniature bohemian room

I used the second pallet sofa in this scene and the pillows are made from a material sample.  Not as happy with this room box as I was with the first but still love it.

Miniature Marvel

Miniature Marvel bedroom

Do you remember this post and the boat cover material samples I got.  I used this one as a headboard for this scene.  The wall mural is from a calendar.

miniature boy's room

The bedding is some felt and an eye glass cleaning cloth.  The rug was from my sample stash.

I stole the backpack from my daughter's barbie stuff.  And the trash can was the lid from some hairspray.

miniature diy lamp

The little Avengers picture was from the back of the same calendar. The lamp was a chess piece with a lid on it.  (I save all my lids.)

miniature side table

I know that the figurine is actually an X-men and not an Avenger, but he's what I had available and it's all Marvel.  Also, the side table is the center pizza thing with a wooden disk on top painted black.

I'm super happy with how this scene came out and if I ever get around to making some new roomboxes, I will make this a permanent setting.

Trash to Treasure: New DIY Mini Couch

diy miniature couch

I had some old jenga blocks and decided to make a couch to match my new chair.

I'm not happy with it, so any advice one of you might have for improving it would be graciously accepted.

A little New Mini and Scene Creation

I didn't get very far in my mini making this last week.  But I did take this old game piece and paint it silver with some old nail polish.  I meant to showcase it in the scene presented below but the scene took on a life of it's own and it became less about the little house.

Miniature scene

I've got a lot of other stuff to catch up on so the next few posts will probably be short and sweet but I will keep them coming.

A New Chair and a New Bedroom Scene

miniature chair

I made a new chair out of a jewelry gift box and some scraps.  I don't have any dolls so this skeleton from the Dollar Tree is helping with the display.

miniature guitar

Another scene I put together with the new chair.  The guitar was on a chain pull for a fan.

miniature bedroom

I love how everything looks with the new walls and flooring in this new bedroom scene.

miniature plants

I can't keep plants alive in real life so I love having a bunch in my mini rooms.

miniature dresser

Well, that's it for today.  Hope you enjoyed the pictures.
