Where a Vampire can feel at home...

Vampire's Living room.

The plant pot is a makeup lid.

The table is a candle stick holder and a wooden disk that I painted white.

The coffin shelf is a box I got from Dollar Tree that I added shelves in.

Miniature Fireplace

For those of you that didn't know, I took a break from electronics for the entire month of February.  Besides lowering my stress and anxiety, I got quite a bit done with the free time I suddenly had.  Which of course included miniature making.  One of which I am super happy with was a quick project I made from a Dollar Tree dresser.

I started by putting it in the microwave to soften the glue and removed the front panel and legs.

Then I used jumbo popsicle sticks and cut them to frame my fire place.

I also purchased some stain markers from the Dollar Tree and used one to stain the fire place.  Below is the finished product.  I love how it came out.

12 Days of Christmas Crafts: Day 11

I've been seeing these gnomes everywhere and wanted to make one for myself.  I used a water bottle, a mop that I bought at the Dollar Tree, a sock, a wooden bead and some ribbon.  I wish I had had a bigger wooden bead for the nose but I am still happy with how he came out.  Isn't he cute!

12 Days of Christmas Crafts: Day 1

Christmas Wreath

I picked up a wreath form at the Dollar Tree.  I wrapped in in different ribbons that I have in my stash and stole the flower from our Christmas tree to finish it off.  I am so happy with how easy it was and how well it came out.

13 Days of Halloween: Day 4

I made a man eating plant!  I love it so much!  The base is a plant pot that I had filled with rocks and plant foam.  I had a dowel rod that I painted green.  The "head" is a football from the Dollar Tree that I cut part way through for the mouth.  I painted the inside black and the outside with a mix of green shades.  The "teeth" are from a couple plastic forks.  I had all the plants including the rose.  The eyeball is from a bag of eyeballs that I also picked up at the Dollar Tree.  I am very proud of how it came out!

13 Days of Halloween: Day 3

diy spider wreath

I wanted to make a Halloween themed wreath for our front door this year and this one was super easy to make.

What I used:

Wreath form
bandage
floss or string
spiders

I had everything already except for the wreath which I picked up at the Dollar Tree.  As for the floss, I couldn't find any string at home and didn't feel like going back to the store...hey, it worked.

Napkin Ring Tables

red top miniature table

I picked up these napkin rings at a local 2nd hand shop four for 50 cents and thought they'd make neat table bases.  I painted some wooden disks and glued them on.

I still have two more to do something with.

miniature lamp

I also finished the plastic Dollar Tree lamp.  I ended up painting it a similar color to what it already was and added a little black bead on top.  I think I still might change it again down the road and next time I think I will try painting it with nail polish.

I also wanted to let you all know that I will not be posting again until next Wednesday since we will be going to see the husband's family in Indiana this weekend.  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend as well.

Taking Some Sick Leave

I am sick today and just don't wanna.  But I tried anyhow and it's not going as planned.

Painting a Dollar Tree Lamp

Remember that little lamp I bought at the Dollar Tree?  I'm trying paint it but my white paint I guess, is old, and not working.  #poutyface

I'm gonna have to see if I can take the white paint off and try another color.  But I think today, I am going back to bed.

And also pictured, my youngest brought me lunch to make me feel better.  Isn't she the sweetest.

More Dollar Tree Miniatures and Pictures from the Music Festival

Dollar Tree Miniatures

I made a few purchases at the Dollar Tree recently and thought I'd share my finding with you.  First thing I picked up was this little doll furniture set.  It's a different scale than what I do but I thought I could do something with the lamp.

Decor balls
I also picked up these little decorative balls.  They are about the size of a quarter.  I have no idea how I'll use them so if you all have some ideas, please share with the rest of the class.

ribbon
And last I found these ribbons which I just love.  I'm think pillows?  Maybe a table runner?  We'll see.

Last, I thought I'd share some of the pictures from the music festival this weekend:

DIY Miniature Shelves

diy miniature shelf

I saw a shelf on one of my dollhouse Facebook pages and thought I could maybe do that!  So I did.

These are both made from Dollar Tree jenga blocks.  I picked up the pack that had two different colors.  I glued some scrap book paper I had to the backs.

I am looking forward to using them in a full room scene soon.

Miniature Cat Tree

diy miniature cat tree

I made a cat tree.  For the bottom two parts, I had to raid the kids' block bin again.  I wrapped twine from the Dollar Tree around the "pole".  The top part is a lid covered in felt.  The ball is a mini pompom.

Sorry, but that's the extent of my crafting this week.  I feel like I am barely keeping up.  I just need one really good day of mini making to produce enough to supply this blog for a while.  Keeps your fingers crossed for me!

Miniature Butterfly Table

Dollar Tree miniature butterfly table

I found this little table at the Dollar Tree.  Not even certain it is a table, could be a chair.  In the end, I used it as a plant stand.

I decided to use another page from the floral calendar.  This one is probably my favorite.

I also made a couple new pillows for the couch.

Still haven't got much done.  Here's hoping I get a good day of crafting soon.

Regarding The Brick Wall

miniature remodel

I decided to try and disguise the parts of the brick wall that I didn't like using some soft plaster that I picked up from the Dollar Tree.

Then I added some cream colored paint with a sponge to the brick areas that were still exposed.  And I have the first coat of white painted on the other two walls.  What do you think?  I think I like it.  I'll have to play around with some new scenes to be sure though.
