Miniature Painting

I have recently started painting.  I've really enjoyed it and will make a separate post soon with pictures of some of my recent paintings. But for this post, I painted a mini one.  Hope you like it.

It Has Been A Little Bit

Dollar Tree miniatures

I picked up these at a Dollar Tree and decided I could paint them and use them in my minis.

Dollar Tree Miniatures redo

As soon as I find my white paint pen, I'll add his name to the dog bowl.  I also included some new tables I made in the picture.  They are much like the ones I made with bobby pin legs but the legs wouldn't stay on so I took two (out of the many) pizza centers "tables" I have, painted them black and used them as the bases.

I haven't worked much with new minis but will hopefully have more for you later.

DIY Miniature Hutch, and more...

I've been wanting a hutch and decided to try and make my own.  I used a Dollar Tree dresser, craft board, popsicle sticks and some cabinet doors I had left over from another project.

I made it so I could open and close the cabinet doors.

I plan on painting it,...not sure what color though.  Suggestions?

I made some more miniature accessories.  The blue lamp I had before but it got broken so I fixed it and, I believe, improved it a bit.

More DIY Miniatures

I made some new minis.  Most are cutouts from magazines and advertisements.  These include, makeup,  blush brush, bacon, magazines, artwork, bottles and plants and children's books.

And then, of course, I had to play with all the new pretties.

You'll notice in the last picture that I also made a new lamp.

DIY Miniature Teardrop Trailer Project

I wanted to give you all a peak at what I'm currently up to.  I haven't been this excited about a mini project in a while and I am so far very pleased with how well it it coming out.  My husband brought home large pieces of cardboard for me to craft with.  And I've had this rippled packing material for awhile that I plan on using for the roof.  Each section is 2 pieces glued together for extra strength.  I still need to do the flooring and paint the outside and I'm not certain if I will be painting the inside or using wallpaper.  What do you all think of it so far?

Ready For A Change

I put together a few new scenes which are pictured here but I am ready to start some new projects, new minis and want to change up my "play room" again.

Also, I got some new wallpapers which I'm sure I'll be playing with soon.

And now that we are on the last day of school for the girls, I should finally have the time to really get to it.

So keep checking back and hopefully soon, I'll have a bunch of fun new minis for your viewing pleasure!

Scooby Doo Miniature Room

I borrowed my kid's action figures for this one.  We don't yet have a Daphne though.

Short and Sweet: Mini Pyrex Bowl

miniature pyrex bowls

Remember the red pyrex bowl I made a while back?  Well, I thought I would try to make another one but this time using the packaging from some chewable mints.

However, I am having difficulties getting all the foil off so if any of you lovely people have a solution for that, drop it down in the comments.  I would be most appreciative.

Miniature Bathroom

miniature bathroom

I made a miniature bathroom but there is no toilet because I haven't figured out how to make one.

I  made the tub from some packing material I saved.  I painted the bottom black and the inside white.

miniature bathroom sink

We threw away an old broken fold up Barbie house recently but I salvaged what I could from it including this sing that I glued to the table.

As for the little shelf...

I found these little metal bits in my husband's junk drawer.  He has no idea what they are but I saw some use for them along with some Dollar Tree jenga blocks.

I had originally wanted to make it a wall shelf but I liked the way it looked in the corner.

miniature toilet paper holder

I also made a toilet paper holder similar to the one I made for paper towels as seen here.

And the above picture is how I made the toilet paper rolls.

I liked how it turned out.  Now if I could just figure out how to make a toilet...

Miniature Pull Toy

miniature pull toy

This is my first attempt at a miniature pull toy.  I'm going to owe my children some new toy animals by the time I'm done with the ones they already have.

I glued an elephant onto a cut piece of popsicle stick and added some wooden "wheels".  I cut and glued on a piece of string for the front.

ribbon

I thought the elephant looked a little bland so I found a piece of ribbon and cut out a piece to glue on his back.

I'm not certain what else to add to make him more festive looking.  Or should I just leave him as is?

Short and Sweet: Miniature Plant Stand

I made a super simple plant stand today and thought I'd share it with you all.  Hope you like it.

miniature plant stand

I plan to use it as a plant stand for now but it would probably work as a little side table too.

diy miniature plant stand

I made it out of theses craft spools and a wooden tile that came from a chess game I bought at the Dollar Tree.  I have a bunch of these and am thinking of making more and painting them different colors.

Short and Sweet: Miniature Elephant Table

miniature elephant table

So I raided my kid's toys again...

mini elephant table

I had the wooden disk that I painted black and hot glued it to this elephant.  I also made a few new plants to display on the new table.  I love him!  What do you all think?

Miniature Laundry Sign

diy miniature wooden sign

I made a little wooden sign for an upcoming project I'm working on out of a large popsicle stick and some letter stickers I have.

I stained the popsicle stick and painted the letters.  I put it on my pink planner to make it stand out for the picture.  It's still drying in this picture.  I may have to touch up the paint on the letters a little.  Or I can leave it for a more rustic look.  I like it so much that I'm gonna see what other kinds of signs I can make with the remaining letters.  It was such an easy mini project.  And as you can see, I had to fix the spelling in the final result.
