Miniature Bathroom

miniature bathroom

I made a miniature bathroom but there is no toilet because I haven't figured out how to make one.

I  made the tub from some packing material I saved.  I painted the bottom black and the inside white.

We threw away an old broken fold up Barbie house recently but I salvaged what I could from it including this sing that I glued to the table.

As for the little shelf...

I found these little metal bits in my husband's junk drawer.  He has no idea what they are but I saw some use for them along with some Dollar Tree jenga blocks.

I had originally wanted to make it a wall shelf but I liked the way it looked in the corner.

miniature toilet paper holder

I also made a toilet paper holder similar to the one I made for paper towels as seen here.

And the above picture is how I made the toilet paper rolls.

I liked how it turned out.  Now if I could just figure out how to make a toilet...

Miniature Toy Shelf

mini toy shelf

I picked up this little box at a 2nd hand shop for about 50 cents last week.  I think it was for letter cards but I turned it into a shelf.  I may add more shelving to it further down the road.

I painted the inside to make the toys stand out more.  And I used my new lamp again for this scene.

miniature dinosaurs

I love my mini dinosaurs.

I did add to the elephant pull toy, but after these pictures were taken.  So I'll post new pictures of him next time.

Napkin Ring Tables

red top miniature table

I picked up these napkin rings at a local 2nd hand shop four for 50 cents and thought they'd make neat table bases.  I painted some wooden disks and glued them on.

I still have two more to do something with.

miniature lamp

I also finished the plastic Dollar Tree lamp.  I ended up painting it a similar color to what it already was and added a little black bead on top.  I think I still might change it again down the road and next time I think I will try painting it with nail polish.

I also wanted to let you all know that I will not be posting again until next Wednesday since we will be going to see the husband's family in Indiana this weekend.  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend as well.

Miniature Pull Toy

miniature pull toy

This is my first attempt at a miniature pull toy.  I'm going to owe my children some new toy animals by the time I'm done with the ones they already have.

I glued an elephant onto a cut piece of popsicle stick and added some wooden "wheels".  I cut and glued on a piece of string for the front.

ribbon

I thought the elephant looked a little bland so I found a piece of ribbon and cut out a piece to glue on his back.

I'm not certain what else to add to make him more festive looking.  Or should I just leave him as is?

Taking Some Sick Leave

I am sick today and just don't wanna.  But I tried anyhow and it's not going as planned.

Painting a Dollar Tree Lamp

Remember that little lamp I bought at the Dollar Tree?  I'm trying paint it but my white paint I guess, is old, and not working.  #poutyface

I'm gonna have to see if I can take the white paint off and try another color.  But I think today, I am going back to bed.

And also pictured, my youngest brought me lunch to make me feel better.  Isn't she the sweetest.

Short and Sweet: Miniature Plant Stand

I made a super simple plant stand today and thought I'd share it with you all.  Hope you like it.

miniature plant stand

I plan to use it as a plant stand for now but it would probably work as a little side table too.

diy miniature plant stand

I made it out of theses craft spools and a wooden tile that came from a chess game I bought at the Dollar Tree.  I have a bunch of these and am thinking of making more and painting them different colors.

More Dollar Tree Miniatures and Pictures from the Music Festival

Dollar Tree Miniatures

I made a few purchases at the Dollar Tree recently and thought I'd share my finding with you.  First thing I picked up was this little doll furniture set.  It's a different scale than what I do but I thought I could do something with the lamp.

Decor balls
I also picked up these little decorative balls.  They are about the size of a quarter.  I have no idea how I'll use them so if you all have some ideas, please share with the rest of the class.

ribbon
And last I found these ribbons which I just love.  I'm think pillows?  Maybe a table runner?  We'll see.

Last, I thought I'd share some of the pictures from the music festival this weekend:

Short and Sweet: Miniature Bed

miniature bed

So I attempted to make a bed but I am not happy with it.  I used mostly scrap wood.  I haven't quite figured out how to improve it.  Maybe a better mattress and bedding?  Or perhaps a foot board?  What do all you lovely miniaturists think?  How would you make this better?

Also, I will not be posting this Friday do to the fact that I will be out of town for a music festival all weekend.  So I will see you all again on Monday.  Have a wonderful weekend!

DIY Miniature Shelves

diy miniature shelf

I saw a shelf on one of my dollhouse Facebook pages and thought I could maybe do that!  So I did.

These are both made from Dollar Tree jenga blocks.  I picked up the pack that had two different colors.  I glued some scrap book paper I had to the backs.

I am looking forward to using them in a full room scene soon.

Short and Sweet: Miniature Elephant Table

miniature elephant table

So I raided my kid's toys again...

mini elephant table

I had the wooden disk that I painted black and hot glued it to this elephant.  I also made a few new plants to display on the new table.  I love him!  What do you all think?

Miniature Laundry Sign

diy miniature wooden sign

I made a little wooden sign for an upcoming project I'm working on out of a large popsicle stick and some letter stickers I have.

I stained the popsicle stick and painted the letters.  I put it on my pink planner to make it stand out for the picture.  It's still drying in this picture.  I may have to touch up the paint on the letters a little.  Or I can leave it for a more rustic look.  I like it so much that I'm gonna see what other kinds of signs I can make with the remaining letters.  It was such an easy mini project.  And as you can see, I had to fix the spelling in the final result.
