Where a Vampire can feel at home...

Vampire's Living room.

The plant pot is a makeup lid.

The table is a candle stick holder and a wooden disk that I painted white.

The coffin shelf is a box I got from Dollar Tree that I added shelves in.

Lady's Bedroom In White

I am still playing catch up with my progress.  I'm hoping to get all the pictures posted on here before Christmas because I am working on some Christmas themed rooms that I would like to post as well.  Here is a scene just after I stained the flooring. I made another lady's bedroom in white this time.

I feel it has a kind of boho style to it. I used the artwork as a base for the color scheme.

Hopefully I will be able to get on here more often to post.  Keep your fingers crossed.

Miniature Fireplace

For those of you that didn't know, I took a break from electronics for the entire month of February.  Besides lowering my stress and anxiety, I got quite a bit done with the free time I suddenly had.  Which of course included miniature making.  One of which I am super happy with was a quick project I made from a Dollar Tree dresser.

I started by putting it in the microwave to soften the glue and removed the front panel and legs.

Then I used jumbo popsicle sticks and cut them to frame my fire place.

I also purchased some stain markers from the Dollar Tree and used one to stain the fire place.  Below is the finished product.  I love how it came out.

New Miniature Table

miniature table

I made a table using a small wooden candle holder and a wood disk.

It still needs another coat of paint but I do like how it turned out.  Also, my husband gave me some flowers recently and they included some small yellow flowers that I dried.  I cut a small bit of them and put them in a vase (bead).  Aren't they pretty?!

Miniature Leather Sofa

miniature leather sofa

Our lamp shade broke.  I was about throw it away when I saw it's potential for repurposing.

It was made from some faux leather.

diy miniature sofa

It's not the prettiest sofa in the world but I like it.

That's all I have for you for now.  See you next week.

Napkin Ring Tables

red top miniature table

I picked up these napkin rings at a local 2nd hand shop four for 50 cents and thought they'd make neat table bases.  I painted some wooden disks and glued them on.

I still have two more to do something with.

I also finished the plastic Dollar Tree lamp.  I ended up painting it a similar color to what it already was and added a little black bead on top.  I think I still might change it again down the road and next time I think I will try painting it with nail polish.

I also wanted to let you all know that I will not be posting again until next Wednesday since we will be going to see the husband's family in Indiana this weekend.  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend as well.

Short and Sweet: Miniature Plant Stand

I made a super simple plant stand today and thought I'd share it with you all.  Hope you like it.

miniature plant stand

I plan to use it as a plant stand for now but it would probably work as a little side table too.

diy miniature plant stand

I made it out of theses craft spools and a wooden tile that came from a chess game I bought at the Dollar Tree.  I have a bunch of these and am thinking of making more and painting them different colors.

Short and Sweet: Miniature Bed

miniature bed

So I attempted to make a bed but I am not happy with it.  I used mostly scrap wood.  I haven't quite figured out how to improve it.  Maybe a better mattress and bedding?  Or perhaps a foot board?  What do all you lovely miniaturists think?  How would you make this better?

Also, I will not be posting this Friday do to the fact that I will be out of town for a music festival all weekend.  So I will see you all again on Monday.  Have a wonderful weekend!

DIY Miniature Shelves

diy miniature shelf

I saw a shelf on one of my dollhouse Facebook pages and thought I could maybe do that!  So I did.

These are both made from Dollar Tree jenga blocks.  I picked up the pack that had two different colors.  I glued some scrap book paper I had to the backs.

I am looking forward to using them in a full room scene soon.

Short and Sweet: Miniature Elephant Table

miniature elephant table

So I raided my kid's toys again...

I had the wooden disk that I painted black and hot glued it to this elephant.  I also made a few new plants to display on the new table.  I love him!  What do you all think?

Miniature Bohemian Living Room

miniature boho room

I made another bohemian themed scene.  It's my favorite miniature style.

miniature ladder

I made another ladder.  I think I'll add some blankets to it next time I use it.

miniature accessories

I also used lots of my new plants and the new vase I made.

miniature pallet coffee table

But my favorite part is the pallet coffee table I made.  And of course my button that I'm still playing with.

I think if I'm going to keep on with the boho theme that I need to make some hanging plants as well.  Next on my to do list.

Newest Miniature Living Room

miniature living room

I still need to put another coat of paint on the walls but decorating is more fun.  I created this living room scene while playing around with the new look.

diy miniature furniture

I wasn't sure how my furniture would look with the new color but I do like it.

miniature desk

I've decided that I need more shelf filler.  I like a full shelf.

miniature shelf

Speaking of shelves, this little guy was from one of those wooden puzzles, that connect together to make a shape, that I picked up at the Dollar Tree.

Ok, I promise the next tie you see the room I will have put that second coat of paint on.

Trash To Treasure: DIY Miniature Chair

diy mini chair

I'm very happy with myself at the moment.  I wasn't certain it would work out but I am pleased with the results of my new chair.

This is how is started.  I cut it from an old softener bottle.

Then I covered it with an old rag with tacky glue.

Last, I added legs and a pillow.  So what do you think?

Miniature Office

miniature office

Not certain that there is a theme here.  Mostly eclectic I believe.

miniature bits and pieces

Lots of just random bits and pieces.

miniature desk

I did make a little tablet out of an advertisement.  And you may notice that the time on the tablet and the time on the clock do not match up.  Oops.

miniature shelf

I really need to get on to making new miniatures.  My scenes are starting to feel too similar.

Miniature Kitchen Table

diy miniature kitchen table

Remember a while back when I made a living room scene but I wasn't happy with it because I felt the couch was too big?  Well, I took that couch apart and made this instead.  The legs are more of the Dollar Tree version of Jenga blocks.  I love it!

miniature kitchen table

I plan on getting more of the little chairs from the Dollar Tree and painting them all white for a farm house type decor.  I wish I had this table in full size.

Funky Miniature Bench

diy miniature bench

I wanted to make a bench.  I started with some more pick up sticks and a jenga block.  I also started with some scrap grey felt.

ugly bench

But I didn't like the result with the grey felt so I covered it with some fun material I picked up at the Dollar Tree some time ago.

I prefer the furry purple.  Now I have ideas for a funky bedroom.
