Where a Vampire can feel at home...

Vampire's Living room.

The plant pot is a makeup lid.

The table is a candle stick holder and a wooden disk that I painted white.

The coffin shelf is a box I got from Dollar Tree that I added shelves in.

Another Lady's Bedroom

Miniature lady's bedroom

I haven't made any new miniatures for awhile but I have been having fun playing with what I have. This is another bedroom (bedrooms are easy).

I like adding accessories to make the rooms feel fuller.

The cat is definitely too big for the room.

Beach Inspired Miniature Room

I have a bunch of beach themed miniatures so I decided to make a beach themed room.
The oil painting was done by my mother.

Lots of lighthouses and seashells.  The captain picture is a cutout from a magazine.

A Boy's Room

Not long ago I got a new room box that I made out of an old speaker box.  I painted it white and added in a popsicle stick floor.

Most of the artwork in this scene came from the back of old calendars. The lamp is made from a chess piece, a makeup lid and a bead.

The Kool-aid picture is from a magazine.

Hope you like it!

Something New To Share With You

From left to right:
I bought a wooden ring box at a yard sale for 50 cents and want to use it as a mini.
The jar on top was a beach themed key chain that I took apart and emptied, then I added some sticks from my yard to it.
I made the stool by gluing two soda pop lids together and covered them with material.
A while back, I purchased some wooden discs.  I took two of them and added legs, which are some old bobby pins cut down.
As for the hand statue, I had it before but it had gotten broke, and I just now got around to fixing it.

That is all for today.  Hopefully, I will have more for you next week.

The New Wallpaper

If you remember, I mentioned some new wallpaper, or scrapbook paper, a couple of posts ago.  Well today I got to play around with some of them.

I love the rich tones of pink and green in this one.  I think this is the paper I will be using for the inside of my camper I'm working on.

I also have some new artwork that I cut out of a magazine.

I'm loving the loft feel of this last room scene I put together.

As for the camper, I'm still working on it, little by little, but my glue gun just stopped working.  Super sad face...

Miniature Pull Toy

miniature pull toy

This is my first attempt at a miniature pull toy.  I'm going to owe my children some new toy animals by the time I'm done with the ones they already have.

I glued an elephant onto a cut piece of popsicle stick and added some wooden "wheels".  I cut and glued on a piece of string for the front.

ribbon

I thought the elephant looked a little bland so I found a piece of ribbon and cut out a piece to glue on his back.

I'm not certain what else to add to make him more festive looking.  Or should I just leave him as is?

Getting Organized

organizing miniatures

I was complaining to my husband about not being able to work on my miniatures because in order to find anything, I have to haul every bit of it out.  Well, a while back he gifted me his old tool box to store my crafts.  Up until today I'd been using to store my paper crafts for my junk journals.  Today he told me he could get me drawer dividers for the tool box and that it would work better for my miniatures.  So pretty much all day, I've been switching everything over.  Above is one of the drawer dividers he gave me.

miniature pillows

It also has some smaller drawers that work better for my larger groupings like these pillows.

And it has some deeper drawers for the furniture.

unconventional "dolls"

My "dolls" are somewhat unconventional...

organizing the craft space

As you can see, I still have a ways to go.  And for those who don't know, this is the room I use for our homeschool and the closet is my craft storage.  I have a large cabinet in there as well that will be the new home for my paper crafts.

How are you craft spaces?  I'm betting neater and more organized than mine at the moment!

Miniature Office

miniature office

Not certain that there is a theme here.  Mostly eclectic I believe.

miniature bits and pieces

Lots of just random bits and pieces.

miniature desk

I did make a little tablet out of an advertisement.  And you may notice that the time on the tablet and the time on the clock do not match up.  Oops.

miniature shelf

I really need to get on to making new miniatures.  My scenes are starting to feel too similar.

Miniature Playroom

miniature play room

I've been playing around with ideas for a toy shop or another kid's bedroom so I'm calling this scene the play room.

I stole a few of my kids toys for this one.  Including the mushroom and alligator erasers.

miniature stool

I thought the hacky sack looked a bit like a stool.

miniature shelf of toys

I got the little animals from the Dollar Tree and if you remember the cabinet liner from my Dollar Tree mini haul last week, flooring.  The little dinosaurs were from a Dollar General toy egg last Easter.  The globe was a keychain.  There is a hot wheels car and the other two cars are from those quarter toy machines.

Do you sometimes play with your minis for inspiration?
