Where a Vampire can feel at home...

Vampire's Living room.

The plant pot is a makeup lid.

The table is a candle stick holder and a wooden disk that I painted white.

The coffin shelf is a box I got from Dollar Tree that I added shelves in.

13 Days of Halloween: Day 5

Of course I had to do a miniature Halloween scene for one of my 13 days of Halloween crafts.

The base a is picture frame.

The shelf was made from a coffin box that I picked up at the Dollar Tree.

Once Upon A Time, Many Years Ago...

miniature Halloween room

I found some pictures of some old projects.  Some really, really old projects.  The picture above was my very first ever miniature room.  Click on it for a larger view.  I made the pumpkin being carved on the table and the trick or treat bags out of gum wrappers.

display box

I barely remember working on some of these.  I don't have them anymore.  I sold some at yardsales and some I gave to friends.

Most of them were before I started making a lot of my own stuff.

miniature bathroom

I remember using Christmas wrapping paper for this one.

miniature boy's room

And I don't think I even finished this house.

miniature doorway

Little bits that just tease my memory.  But unfortunately all random and never the full picture.

miniature bedroom

I remember reusing some of the furniture from this room.

And putting it in this room.

miniature girl's room

I remember the little dolls they used to have at the Dollar Tree.

That bed shows up in a couple pictures.

I think I gave up on finishing the first dollhouse and gave it away and then built the second out of a bookshelf.  But I kept all the furniture from the first.  This was 16 years ago.

I wish I still had some of this stuff.

Then there is this room.  I remember putting this room together, but I can't remember the rest of the dollhouse and what it looked like and I can't find anymore pictures.

Do you ever look at older projects and realize how far you've come?

Miniature Halloween Scene

miniature Halloween scene

I've had the idea in mind for some time now.  After I bought the witch at the Dollar Tree anyway.  Again, this is a temporary setting, just playing with the minis again.

miniature witch

She's just the right size.  I think I'll keep her.

miniature skeleton

I already had the skeleton from previous projects, but he too, was from the Dollar Tree.

Miniature Halloween party

The banner was made from old packaging.  And the bowl of candy are candy sprinkles.  And the chair was from the Dollar Tree.

miniature witch's shelf

Now for the shelf.  On top I have a crystal ball which is a marble with a bead base, a plant which was a cut off from a fish tank plant and a bead, and a small Christmas ornament with the top taken off and a washer for a base.

The second shelf, I have a handful of the tiny wreaths and another fish tank plant cut off and bead.

Third shelf, I little tea set (missing a piece however) and some bead bottles.

The fourth shelf, I had the clear one for a while, it came in a pack also from the Dollar Tree.  The other glass bottle I found at a yard sale for $1 and another bead bottle.  The large canister is another wooden bead with a button on top.  And then the books are just cut pieces of popsicle sticks with covers glued over.

Click on the pictures for a larger view and please let me know what you think of this room in the comments.

Some Old Projects

Again, I am sorry its been so long since my last post, but with school and the new baby I've just been trying to screw my head back on.

Good news though, I'm almost done with this semester and I have BIG plans for two new dollhouses!  I'm so excited to get started!!!

But until then I am going to leave you with some older projects that I never got around to posting.  Hope you enjoy:

I made a Halloween room with a few left over pieces.  I bought the skeleton along with a string full of them at the Dollar Tree Shop for 1$.  I plan on using the rest of the skeletons on a bar.

This bathroom was one of my very first projects that I made out of an old bread box.  The rug was a cup coaster I found, the plant was a perfume lid with some fake fish tank plants and the table was some extra wood pieces I fit together.

As for the next project, I'm doing a modern re-purpose type style.  I'm just itching to get started!
