Miniature Children's Bedroom

miniature children's bedroom

Hi, it has been awhile and I am sorry for that.  Life, too often, gets in the way of my fun.  But I am back and have lots of new miniature projects to share with you all including this children's bedroom I made recently.

Dollar Tree Furniture

Most all of the furniture came from the Dollar Tree.  I painted the pieces and redid the bedding for the little beds.

I had the wall paper already in my supplies as well as the olive green rug (rug sample).  The bedding I made out of a rag that was also picked up at the Dollar Tree.  The flooring, however, was on sale at Michael's for 49 cents.

I made the banner with some scrap paper and some string.  I love how it came out.

Most every thing, in fact, was already in my supplies.  Like the toys, beads I used for the plant holders, mini umbrella and the poster was a sticker I had.

I am so in love with this room, but it is unfortunately only a temporary room.  I made an experimental display room so that I could play with ideas.  Perhaps I'll make it more permanent in the future.

Again, you can click on the pictures to get a larger view.  I hope you enjoyed this room as much as I did making it.

Playing With Minis

So I've recently made a miniature room using some scrap wood.  I plan to use it as a way to experiment and play with all my miniatures.  Below are some pictures of a scene I was playing around with.

The artwork is a picture I cut out from a magazine and mod podged to a piece of wood.  The books are cut popsicle sticks with book adverts cut to fit.  And the clock is another magazine cut out mod podged to a button.

Shelf In A Box

I've had this little box for some time now and finally decided to do something with it.  Its very small and no furniture would fit in it so I made a shelf display out of some scrap wood.  I made the books out of jumbo popsicle sticks.  The lamp was from my collection of game pieces (a chess piece to be specific).  It was a fun and quick little project.

A Few Mini Projects

I haven't been crafting miniatures much lately.  But during some de-cluttering, I got in the mood.  Here are a few small projects that I've finished.

A little $Tree vanity.

A hutch for a nursery.

My mother found this little display box for me at a yard sale.  I cut and stained some jumbo popsicle sticks for the flooring.  A scrap of carpet material sample for the rug.  I made the fire place out of a broken trinket box and scrap wood pieces.  The rest were items I've found here and there mostly at yard sales and 2nd hand shops.

Shabby Chic Miniature Bedroom Finished!

I fixed the dangling strings after the picture was taken....

Sorry the pictures aren't the best quality.  They were taken with my phone.

I made the bed and bedding.  The box, rug, and paperdoll picture were gifts from my mother.  The lamp is made from an old chess piece and some scrapbook paper.  The trash can is a toothpick holder from the Dollar Tree.  The cat was from one of those toy machines outside the grocery store.  It was a quick but fun project.

Playing with Minis

So I was digging around some of my craft stuff, looking for some mini ideas and came up with these.
Items include a ring box, wood block, round scrap wood piece painted black, a tiny candle holder (have a bag full of them from a thrift store) golf tees, party favor cups from the Dollar Tree and a diy Christmas ornament I got a couple years back on sale for 50 cents.

I made a side table, a butcher block, some modern chairs and a foot stool.  I plan on fixing them up with a little more detail later.  What do you think?

Old fashioned Lantern

My first attempt at making one of these.

I think it came out pretty good.  I used some beads, wire and a straw.
