Thrifted Miniatures

I found some cool finds thrifting recently.  I use napkin rings often as table bases in my minis so I was happy to find these beautiful wooden ones.  The doll was a neat find.  I don't really have "dolls" in my miniatures often.  At some point I will make a post about what "dolls" I do have and you'll understand why I keep using the quotations.  My favorite find were these little pictures.  I immediately used them in the miniature scene pictured below.

I cut out some new artwork from a Country Living magazine, a birds poster and a color wheel poster, and created some fun spaces with them.

I saved a bit of packaging that resembles a couch for this scene.  I won't likely keep it but it sort of works.

I haven't made any new miniatures for awhile but I have been having fun playing with what I have. This is another bedroom (bedrooms are easy).

I like adding accessories to make the rooms feel fuller.

The cat is definitely too big for the room.

Beach Inspired Miniature Room

I have a bunch of beach themed miniatures so I decided to make a beach themed room.

The oil painting was done by my mother.

Lots of lighthouses and seashells.  The captain picture is a cutout from a magazine.

 

A Boy's Room

Not long ago I got a new room box that I made out of an old speaker box.  I painted it white and added in a popsicle stick floor.

Most of the artwork in this scene came from the back of old calendars. The lamp is made from a chess piece, a makeup lid and a bead.

The Kool-aid picture is from a magazine.

It's Been Awhile...

 I haven't been blogging and I am sorry for that.  I have still been crafting though and I have lots to catch you all up on.  Starting with the fact that we have moved for the final time.  We purchased our forever home last year.  I also have a new craft space!

I've already made so many things in the space that I can't wait to share with you all.  But stay tuned for the next post to see!

Something New

 

I got a new two new room boxes to play with.

I cut this picture from a magazine.

And I picked up a few new play pretties from the dollar tree, including this clear drawer tray that I used as a shelf, erasers that look like books (a little large for my scale), and the the plastic form from some barbie dresses I got for the girls which I painted yellow (still needs another coat of paint).

Sorry I haven't been around much lately.  Life keeps from the things I'd prefer to be doing sometimes.
