Forever Playing With Minis

Sometimes its more fun not to have a goal in mind but to just play with your minis.  In this case, I'm playing around with my new artwork and matching them to the different bead bottles I have.

I picked up the butterfly mirror at the Dollar Tree.

I have a gallon sized bag full of beads.

Some from the Dollar Tree, some 2nd hand, some from broken jewelry, some given to me.

I have plenty of color choices to pick from.

Many different shapes to work with.

My favorites are my wooden beads.

Which color combo is your favorite?

Before I go, I just wanted to thank all of you for following along with me and my minis this year and I look forward to another fun mini making year in 2019.  Happy New Year to all!

A New Chair and a New Bedroom Scene

miniature chair

I made a new chair out of a jewelry gift box and some scraps.  I don't have any dolls so this skeleton from the Dollar Tree is helping with the display.

miniature guitar

Another scene I put together with the new chair.  The guitar was on a chain pull for a fan.

I love how everything looks with the new walls and flooring in this new bedroom scene.

I can't keep plants alive in real life so I love having a bunch in my mini rooms.

Well, that's it for today.  Hope you enjoyed the pictures.

Miniature Artwork From a Calendar

free mini artwork

I keep old calendars to use in my junk journals but I got to looking at the backs of them and saw some mini artwork so I cut them out.

I'll go through the rest of the calendars later but I am in love with these from this butterfly calendar.

Have a very miniature Christmas!

miniature Christmas room

So I put together a slightly better Christmas miniature scene just in time for Christmas.

miniature Christmas pillows

Though it's still not where I want it, I did enjoy making some new minis.  Next year, however, I plan on making a permanent scene with wood floors, a better color choice on the walls and a fireplace.

miniature Christmas tree

I decorated the Christmas tree with a red pipe cleaner, and a few pompoms.  The girls have some sticker earrings and I stole one for the tree topper.  I also made some stockings.

miniature Christmas cards

I also made some Christmas cards using card stock and stickers.

I also added a wreath a snowman ornament.  And apparently there was a mouse was stirring the night before Christmas.

I also wanted to share a picture from days long past of my very first Christmas miniature scene.

Christmas dollhouse

Unfortunately it is the only picture that I have.  It's hard to see but there is an elf sitting on the rocking chair.

Last but not least, my other hobby is making junk journals.  For those who don't know, junk journals are journals made from paper trash and are used just like a journal except you can make art in them and keep your favorite paper memories like ticket stubs and receipts of special gifts, etc.

So I made myself a Christmas junk journal and being that I made it too late for this year, I will use it for next Christmas.

Christmas junk journal cover

I made the cover from an old gift back and a Christmas card.

Christmas junk journal

The inside cover is another Christmas card made into a pocket.

The green checkered paper was a paper bag my mother gave me.

I coffee dyed most of the paper to give it the color and crinkly texture.

I added some used envelopes filled with cards and tags.

I added plenty of tuck spots.

Christmas junk journal

This is my favorite page!

I cut one card into three different pieces.  The bottom I glued on to make a front tuck spot, the main part of the card as a pocket and the inside Christmas message tucked in as a journaling card.

I used stickers and bits and pieces from my paper stash.

The back cover is a pocket that I used to put all the left over tags and paper I had.

And that is all the crafting I did this Christmas.  May you all have a merry one.

Miniature Room Redo

miniature living room

miniature living room

So I redid my temporary miniature display room.  I painted the walls and I flipped over the gray carpet piece I've been using.

diy miniature coffee table

I also made a couple new miniatures, like the coffee table in the above picture.  I used a piece of cut wood and some paper clips painted for legs.

I found these deer heads at Walmart and decided to remodel one.

I added a button to the back and painted all but the antlers white.  I left the antlers gold.

It's now one of my favorite pieces.

That was the extent of my miniature making today.  How was yours?
